The Clanard Court Hotel Celebrates Success Winning GOLD Green Hospitality Award
The Clanard Court Hotel picked up the Prestigious Gold Award for excellence in Environmental Management from the Green Hospitality Awards programme. The Clanard Court Hotel was one of only 6 hotels to receive such a Prestigious Award, other hotels included three of The Radisson group St Helens, The Westin Dublin, and The Clarion - Dublin.
Speaking about the awards, Gerry Byrne EPA Programme Manager said, "EPA are delighted to have supported the GHA programme over many years as it is obvious that successful hospitality businesses are using resource efficiency measures to improve their bottom line. There are additional benefits in that their Irish tourism product can be marketed as genuinely green and the environmental impacts are reduced".
The GHA programme has been encouraged to provide an Eco Label for tourism businesses by a number of industry federations and government bodies such as the RAI, VFI, Chambers of Commerce of Ireland and Failte Ireland and continues to be the most successful environmental management programme for the hospitality sector in Europe. The Clanard Court Hotel has displayed positive results of their efforts including reducing waste going to landfill by 50%, reducing water consumption by 50% and reducing energy consumption by up to 30%, all of which impact positively on the bottom line as well as on the environment.
