"We had our wedding reception in the clanard in sept and felt we just had to write a review of our experience. We actually seen the hotel on the way back from a friends and decided to call in as the outside of the hotel and the grounds looked so well. We were very impressed with the cozy reception area with it's high ceiling and fire. The rest of the hotel did not disappoint. The ballroom is great with gorgeous chandeliers, windows across the back of the room looking out onto the lovely garden and it was the perfect size. The rooms were clean and spacious and all our guest seemed impressed. The staff in the hotel are extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble, in the time leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. Our wedding day itself went so smoothly, the room looked great and the food was delicious, piping hot and plenty of it. All of our guests mentioned how nice the food was and how lovely the staff were serving it. The hotel is a family run business and it really shows in how the hotel is run. We would have no hesitation recommending it for a wedding and it is very reasonably priced".

"Stayed here 9-11 july for my cousins wedding, brilliant hotel, we stayed on an offer deal so werent expecting such high standards, our inclusive meal on friday night was amazing, i had gorgeous lamb, my other half had guinea fowl and rabbit and my mammy and sister really enjoyed their meal as well (cant remem wot they had), the rooms were lovely, spotless+roomy, we couldnt get the radio system in the hotel room to work so 2 members of staff tried to sort it but couldnt so the manager lent us his portable cd player from home...wot service...breakfast was good, i asked if i could have my smoked salmon cooked in with my scrambled eggs, no problem, missed havin tomato juice tho, but minor detail. actually, when we arrived we found that our room was a bit smoky, even tho people shouldnt be smoking in the rooms but we were moved and my mammy and sister were moved down to a room opposite also, the wedding was lovely, the reception room was decorated really nicely, food again was amazing, staff came out with silver platters to the top table to the sound of the world cup music (world cup week) in perfect timing etc, everything was just so perfect, theres nothing we could fault, the staff couldnt do enough to help, a real credit to the hotel trade in ireland and we stay in hotels often, usually 4* so are well used to this class of hotel, i'd stay here again just for the food, amazing, athy has some cute shops, not the high street chain but that makes it more worth a visit in my book, the llamas and rare breed sheep in the garden were cute too, highly recommend this hotel, will be surprised if you are not totally impressed with everything here and if you're gettin married in this area i would totally recommend it, it rained all day at my cousins wedding but it was not spoiled due to the attention of the hotel staff, its a bit of a trek for us to come from derry but if i'm ever down that way again i'd have no hesitation booking in." |
